November MYTHIC DELIRIUM features now live + CLOCKWORK PHOENIX/MYTHIC DELIRIUM submissions update

November 3rd, 2015 No Comments

Mythic_Delirium_2_1_cover_smallToday is Election Day here in the United States, so I’m particularly pleased at the timeliness of our featured story for November, Michael J. DeLuca’s “The Coup in Elfland.” It’s a dark, surreal political fable (or maybe unfable) written in tribute to the writings of Lord Dunsany and Miguel Ángel Asturias.

Our featured poems this month, “Artifacts” by Judith Roney (a newcomer to our pages) and “Aetiologies” by Sonya Taaffe (a longtime regular contributor, going back to our early print issue days) offer unique perspectives on death and what’s left behind.

If you don’t want to wait another month to read the rest of the current issue, it’s available in full on Amazon (click here) and at Weightless Books (click here) or you can subscribe to a full year of Mythic Delirium for only $10 and receive it that way.

Speaking of Mythic Delirium, at this point everyone who submitted stories and poems during the Aug. 1-Oct. 1 submission window should have received a response. This is also true for everyone who submitted stories to the Clockwork Phoenix 5 anthology. If you sent something in for consideration with either project and haven’t heard back, you should definitely query, though in the case of Clockwork Phoenix 5, the stories are picked and the anthology is now full. Anita and I are now setting the order for the table of contents, with an announcement in the works. An announcement of the table of contents of the January-March 2016 issue of Mythic Delirium is also on the near horizon.

Stay tuned! Believe me, we can’t wait to share (even though decorum requires us to hold off just a little longer…)
