It’s that time — in fact, a bit past the time — to create a post that makes it easier for readers to peruse all the things we published in 2016, for purposes of consideration for awards, or simply for the fun of exploring and catching up on what you might have missed.

In April, we produced Clockwork Phoenix 5, the newest installment in our anthology series showcasing “stories of beauty and strangeness” and our biggest yet. The book itself is eligible in awards categories that consider original anthologies.

Of the 20 tales included, 19 are short stories, as usually defined in genreland (under 7,500 words); the exception is Sunil Patel’s contribution, which is a novelette. We also published, over the course of the year, 12 short stories and 24 poems in our quarterly zine, Mythic Delirium. Here are all the short stories:

And here are all of the poems, eligible for Rhysling consideration:

We also published my second collection, The Spider Tapestries, which began life as an additional Kickstarter reward to help bolster the funding of Clockwork Phoenix 5. The book contained one original short story, “Silent in Her Nest.” I’ll discuss Spider Tapestries more fully in a separate entry at Descent into Light.

In at least this one way — the showcasing of great art — 2016 has been pretty terrific. We’re already working on the first issue of 2017, but it’s nice to have this chance to take stock of what we’ve accomplished.
