Announcing our next release (plus a cover reveal!) — ONE BIG PLACE: The Saur Stories of Richard Chwedyk
Mythic Delirium Books is (aka Anita and I are) proud to announce — in the midst of our ongoing comeback launch with Haralambi Markov’s debut collection The Language of Knives (more on all of that very soon) — that our next title is on the way.
One Big Place for the first time collects in one volume all of Richard Chwedyk’s beloved “Saur” novellas that appeared in the pages of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, included the Nebula-winning and Hugo-nominated “Brontë’s Egg.”
We’re also thrilled to share Bryn Barnard’s delightfully dynamic cover art.
I like to joke that Richard’s collection represents a radical departure for Mythic Delirium: we’ve never done “cute and adorable” before. Though my tongue-in-cheek jape hardly summarizes the riches to be found in these tales, with the tragic back story that underlies them and the deep sympathy that these genetically-engineered, sentient former “bio-toys” inspire, despite or even because of their memorably zany antics.
We’ve scheduled the release date for April 20, 2027, but pre-orders are available now directly through the Mythic Delirium website. Much more news to come as we go forward.
