Theodora Goss, Barbara Krasnoff read from their Mythic Delirium books Tuesday April 2 in Brooklyn
The first big Mythic Delirium Books event of 2019 takes place Tuesday, April 2, starting 6:30 p.m. in the Brooklyn Commons Cafe at 388 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY (natch!), as a part of the New York Review of Science Fiction Reading Series. (Generally, the readings take place at Brooklyn Commons the first Tuesday of each month.)
It will be an evening of full of magic.
The event will serve as the official launch reading for Snow White Learns Witchcraft by Theodora Goss, her new collection of poetry and stories that Anita and I brought out in February, and which has turned out to be our biggest debut yet, earning acclaim in The New York Times, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly and lots more places.
It’ll also serve as a preview reading for The History of Soul 2065 by Barbara Krasnoff, her debut collection of linked short stories that together make a mosaic novel. The book comes out in June, and you can read what luminaries like Jane Yolen, Samuel R. Delay, James Morrow and more have said about it here.
Jim Freund, who curates the NYRSF Reading Series, is graciously allowing me to guest host. Perhaps more importantly, Anita and I will be present wearing our publishers’ hats, with books to sell that Dora and Barbara can sign. And we’ll bring a few surprises too.
I’m thrilled to be returning to NYRSF — the first time we went, it was for the Clockwork Phoenix 5 launch in 2016, which was so successful it set an attendance record — the second-most attended reading in the 25-year-plus history of the series.
If you can’t make it in person, you can watch the whole thing live by visiting this link. Click the “Get Notified” button to receive an alert when the livestream broadcast is about to start.
