2019 Mythic Delirium Award Eligibility Post
In 2019, Mythic Delirium Books completed its transition from publishing a mixture of books and magazine issues to putting out only books. We put out two books in 2019, Snow White Learns Witchcraft by Theodora Goss and The History of Soul 2065 by Barbara Krasnoff.
We pride ourselves at Mythic Delirium on our willingness to get behind great books that more commercial publishers are squeamish about because they don’t fit in neat categories, and we certainly stuck to that mission.
Snow White Learns Witchcraft, which blends stories and poetry, is eligible for any award that includes a best collection category.
The book also contains two original stories, eligible for 2019 fiction awards, which have since become available to all to read free online.
“Conversations with the Sea Witch” is also available in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America 2019 short story forum for Nebula Award consideration. “A Country Called Winter” is available in the 2019 novelette forum.
The History of Soul 2065 stretches things still further, because not only does it blur genre boundaries, it presents an additional categorical challenge as you can argue that it functions as both a novel and a story collection, as the linked stories it contains chronicle several generations of two intertwined families.
The book also contains five original stories, one of which, “An Awfully Big Adventure,” is free to read online at our site!
All five of these stories are available in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America 2019 short story forum for Nebula Award consideration. The complete text of The History of Soul 2065 is also available in the 2019 novel forum.
