The CLOCKWORK PHOENIX 4 special edition in Amsterdam

September 29th, 2013 No Comments

CP4_special_corinne_smallThe adventures of the special signed-by-all-the-authors edition of Clockwork Phoenix 4 continues.

Corinne Duyvis, who contributed “Lilo Is” to the book, sends this picture from Amsterdam. In documenting the books travels, she writes, “My Dutch thing of choice was a poffertjes stand, which is very, very Dutch indeed (and also very delicious).”

She’s the first contributor to pose with the book, perhaps because she made the mistake of asking me if I’d like her to do so, hee. I love how the beam of sunlight falls right across the “4.”

There’s one more author to go, and then it’s back to me, completing the trip around the world — and then to the book’s actual owner. #SFWApro

While I’m at it, Google Alert alerted me (as it should) to this fun review of the anthology in the “50 Book Challenge” LiveJournal community. I quote:

The overall theme of Clockwork Phoenix 4 tends towards the weird, and features some very experimental structures and voices. Some of these stories struck me as very strong — even bringing tears to my eyes–while a few others left me more confused than anything.

Fair enough! Corinne’s story is highlighted, as well as contributions by Richard Parks, Kenneth Schneyer and Barbara Krasnoff.
