The CLOCKWORK PHOENIX 4 launch reading (w/ audio & photos)

Long short taken by Anita Allen, with almost all the readers and some of the audience visible.
Better late than never, as they say. I’m kicking off a week of blog entries devoted to Clockwork Phoenix 4 with sights and sounds from the launch reading for the anthology. It took place Friday, July 12, 2013 at ReaderCon in Burlington, Mass. Contributors A.C. Wise, Gemma Files, Nicole Kornher-Stace, Barbara Krasnoff, Shira Lipkin, Yves Meynard and Kenneth Schneyer all read excerpts from their stories.

Panorama taken by Jim Freund. From left to right: me, a big ole stack of Clockwork Phoenix 4 anthologies, A.C. Wise, Gemma Files, Nicole Kornher-Stace, Barbara Krasnoff, Shira Lipkin, Yves Meynard (reading from his story “Our Lady of the Thylacines”) and Ken Schneyer.
And we’ve got audio of the entire reading, courtesy of Barbara’s husband, Hour of the Wolf radio show host Jim Freund.
The authors read in the order they appear in the book, so that’s:
- Yves Meynard, “Our Lady of the Thylacines”
- Nicole Kornher-Stace, “On the Leitmotif of the Trickster Constellation in Northern Hemispheric Star Charts, Post-Apocalypse”
- Gemma Files, “Trap-Weed”
- A.C. Wise, “Lesser Creek: A Love Story, A Ghost Story”
- Shira Lipkin, “Happy Hour at the Tooth and Claw”
- Kenneth Schneyer, “Selected Program Notes from the Retrospective Exhibition of Theresa Rosenberg Latimer”
- Barbara Krasnoff, “The History of Soul 2065″
Here’s some more scenes from the scene, mostly of writers listening to other writers.

Barbara’s story finishes the event, as Shira and Yves listen.

Me, hoping I won’t have to take that entire stack back to my room, heh, heh. (I didn’t have to.)
On my computer the audio is 26 minutes long, and ends in the middle of A. C. Wise’s reading.
Hey, Ken, my only advice to you is to maybe refresh to the page? The full 49 minute recording is definitely there (I just tested.)
UPDATE: This player counts backward, so your reading begins at -15:35.
