I’m thrilled to be part of a stellar lineup of readers that includes Jeffrey Ford, Laurel Hightower and Gwendolyn Kiste! The Strange. The Weird. Come see NIGHTMARES UNEARTHED this Saturday night

March 25th, 2021 1 Comment

I am proud to be a part of Nightmares Unearthed: A Contemporary Horror Reading, a literally monstrous virtual reading that’s going to happen at 8 p.m. this coming Saturday, March 27 (two days from now!) — to join, you need to register using this EventBrite link (click here). Lots more details to be found at this blog post written by our gracious host, C.S.E. Cooney — but I will do my best to convey the goodness. “Nightmares Unearthed” began with

A SINISTER QUARTET & AFTERMATH OF AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT readings + Outer Dark this weekend

August 13th, 2020 No Comments

Last month (man, has time gotten away from me) I had the privilege to take part in two group readings promoting my most recent offerings as a writer and as a publisher, and those readings have since been archived online where I can share them. Not to mention, I’ll be giving yet another one this Friday at 10 p.m. EST as part of the 2020 Virtual Outer Dark Symposium on the Greater Weird, and in the hour leading up to

Fantastic Fiction at KGB reading from AFTERMATH OF AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT: Wednesday, July 15, 7 p.m.

July 9th, 2020 No Comments

The original plan for this coming Wednesday was for Anita and I to travel to New York, stay alternately with Dan Stace and Nicole Kornher-Stace and then with C. S. E. Cooney and Carlos Hernandez, and then I would arrive in Manhattan with copies of books to sell and read from my second horror collection, Aftermath of an Industrial Accident, at the KGB Bar, alongside Benjamin Rosenbaum, who would read from his first novel, The Unraveling. The reading, at least,

Zoom reading from A SINISTER QUARTET + new stories showcased at Decameron Project

May 19th, 2020 No Comments

The COVID-19 crisis has required us to get creative as we promote our forthcoming anthology A Sinister Quartet, as live events remain out of the question for the moment and review venues deal with disruptions in schedule and income. We’ve had some good breaks to make up for some of the bad, and my three co-authors, C. S. E. Cooney, Amanda J. McGee, and Jessica P. Wick, have been great at brainstorming all new things to try out in the

The Outer Dark now and The Outer Dark then

May 7th, 2020 No Comments

I am honored to return to The Outer Dark podcast to take part in the latest episode their Quarantine Readings series, alongside (so to speak, in virtual space) my great friend (and Mythic Delirium alumna) Christina Sng. She reads from her new poetry collection from Raw Dog Screaming Press, A Collection of Nightmares, and I read an excerpt from “Aftermath of an Industrial Accident,” the title story of my forthcoming collection Aftermath of an Industrial Accident, and an excerpt from

99 cent celebration sale of Bone Swans and Clockwork Phoenix 5

March 12th, 2017 No Comments

This sale serves as a dual celebration for Mythic Delirium Books.   We’re combining a celebration of Clockwork Phoenix 5 contributor Barbara Krasnoff’s Nebula Award nomination for her short story “Sabbath Wine” with a too-long-delayed celebration of C.S.E. Cooney’s World Fantasy Award win for her story collection Bone Swans.   We’ve reduced the prices of both ebooks to 99¢ (a $5 discount) and they’ll stay that way through March 19.   Here’s all the places you can snatch them

Funding the Outer Dark Symposium

March 9th, 2017 No Comments

I dig the Outer Dark podcast and the fact it focuses on “the Weird” in a way that doesn’t limit the term to a mere synonym for horror with literary ambition, so when organizers Anya Martin and Scott Nicolay announced the first Outer Dark Symposium in Decatur, Georgia, I couldn’t resist the pull of temptation. The event takes place March 25, and I plan to be there, joining in with a very cool roster of guest speakers. You can read

CLOCKWORK PHOENIX 5 arises and flies

April 18th, 2016 No Comments

So, as I mentioned in a previous post, I’m still playing the “belated” game, which is why I’m only now getting to the official post declaring that our newest anthology, Clockwork Phoenix 5, is available everywhere — though, to be fair, numerous shouts resounded via more ephemeral social media outlets on the April 5 launch date, and the launch reading that day was a smash success. More about that anon.   First, links to all the places you can find
