Announcing the official CLOCKWORK PHOENIX 5 table of contents

December 7th, 2015 3 Comments

I’m proud to at last officially announce the table of contents for Clockwork Phoenix 5, the latest installment in the Mythic Delirium Books anthology series devoted to genre-blurring beautiful and strange stories. With twenty tales by twenty-one authors, Clockwork Phoenix 5 is the largest volume in the series to date. The generosity of the genre community breathed life into this latest incarnation, crowdfunding the project through a successful $12,000 Kickstarter campaign.   Here are the stories, in the order selected

November MYTHIC DELIRIUM features now live + CLOCKWORK PHOENIX/MYTHIC DELIRIUM submissions update

November 3rd, 2015 No Comments

Today is Election Day here in the United States, so I’m particularly pleased at the timeliness of our featured story for November, Michael J. DeLuca’s “The Coup in Elfland.” It’s a dark, surreal political fable (or maybe unfable) written in tribute to the writings of Lord Dunsany and Miguel Ángel Asturias.   Our featured poems this month, “Artifacts” by Judith Roney (a newcomer to our pages) and “Aetiologies” by Sonya Taaffe (a longtime regular contributor, going back to our early

A new CLOCKWORK PHOENIX rises!

May 28th, 2015 No Comments

The wonderful if rhetorically awkward thing about Kickstarter is that, to give credit where credit is due, one must say thank you to everyone at every stage in the campaign, over and over and over again.   Thank you to everyone who pledged. To everyone who raised their pledges. (Some several times!) To everyone who found themselves in tight financial spots yet still made some sacrifice for this campaign because they wanted it to succeed.   Thank you to everyone

Congratulations to Richard Novak and Rachel Swirksy, who won trade paperback ARCs of C.S.E. The CLOCKWORK PHOENIX 5 Kickstarter is alive

May 3rd, 2015 No Comments

Last week I launched a new Kickstarter campaign to fund Clockwork Phoenix 5, which I hope will be the next installment in our critically-acclaimed, award-nominated flagship anthology series.   With the costs of shipping and printing having risen, and the professional standard payment for fiction also having risen, my funding goal for this new book is pretty epic, $11,000. But we’re six days in and more than 1/5 of the way to the goal, so we’re off to a promising

The MYTHIC DELIRIUM anthology is here!

October 14th, 2014 No Comments

I’m so thrilled to announce that the first ever Mythic Delirium trade paperback anthology, with its beautiful cover from Galen Dara, is available, if not quite everywhere yet, then enough places that there’s certainly no point in keeping it a secret! (It’s basically gone live a month earlier than planned, which we had to do to have copies available for launch at the World Fantasy Convention in D.C.) I am so proud of this book and all it represents —

The MYTHIC DELIRIUM anthology: cover reveal and table of contents

September 23rd, 2014 1 Comment

Okay, so we haven’t quite kept this a secret. (How could we sit on a treasure this pretty? Seriously?)   Nonetheless, consider this the official cover reveal for the first Mythic Delirium paperback anthology. We’re proud to have Hugo Award winner Galen Dara on board as our cover artist for this first venture into not-quite-charted territory.   I add the caveat because obviously it’s not our first venture into paperback anthologies. Once upon the time there were the two MYTHIC
